This 100% llama knitting yarn is made from pure llama fiber, known for its exceptional durability and gentle touch on sensitive skin.

Sourced from the hills of northern Argentina, this natural, untreated yarn offers both softness and strength — perfect for knitting or crochet projects that feel like a second skin.

In Argentina, this same yarn is often used to create traditional ponchos and blankets because of its lasting warmth and resilience. It’s also an excellent choice for accessories such as gloves, hats, and scarves.

Available in beautiful natural and hand-dyed shades, our 100% llama yarn is ideal for those who cannot wear wool. Llama fiber is technically hair, not wool, meaning it lacks the lanolin that can cause irritation or allergies in some people.

Additional information:

  • Material: 100% llama
  • Size: approx. 150 m = 100 g
  • Recommended needle size: 5 - 6 mm knitting needles or crochet hook

Care Instructions

We recommend hand washing in cool water to keep the yarn's softness and shape. Lay flat to dry.

Additional Information

Llama wool is breathable and has excellent thermal insulation properties. It is suitable for winter warming accessories and also has good moisture-wicking abilities. Llama wool does not contain lanolin and is more breathable and softer than sheep's wool. Less wool is obtained from llamas than from sheep, as llamas are sheared less frequently, resulting in less wool being available. Our Argentine llama wool comes from the llama breeding areas in northern Argentina.
